Here is a brief history on the humble beginning of Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul. It all started back in 1936 when the founder, Tan TeikFuang learned on making and began selling Chendul at Penang Road. The learning process took a while but as time passed, he perfected the good quality taste a Chendul could be.
He believed that his business will help make a living for his family. He managed to grab a lot of loyal customers through his humbleness
and diligent hand upon preparing Chendul passionately.
On a daily basis, especially during the weekend do expect a long queue just to get a taste of it! Despite that, people would still go through it as it is irresistible and for those who visit Penang, it would be such a shame if they don’t stop by or try the Penang Famous TeoChew Chendul. The never ending line however doesn’t take that long to wait as the worker does their job fast and efficiently. It takes less than 20 seconds to prepare a bowl. You can see how they do it in this video.
Do try it if you come to Penang! It is a must try dessert in Penang!
